The goal of WebOrganic is to provide the means to the needy students for
learning over the Internet. Hardware and software support will make eLearning possible, and Web learning opens up new opportunities.

We firmly believe that information technology is one of the most important tools in building a good foundation for the young through education, and that it elevates the learning interest and develop the latent potentials of the students. Our programme aims to generate chances and hope with a special focus on the underprivileged.

Message from General Manager

WebOrganic is young and growing fast. We are grateful for the strong support from all sectors since our establishment. Through partnerships with more than 40 organizations from different sectors, ranging from grassroots level social works, to fellow NGOs, frontline educators, different HK Government Departments, HK SME’s  and some of the largest global companies,  WebOrganic provides high quality computers and Internet services to needy students to bridge the digital gap. Through various training and mentorship programmes, we are able to enhance the literacy for the healthy use of the Internet of the students.

As of July 2015, over 50,000 needy families joined the “Internet Learning Support Programme” sponsored by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer through WebOrganic. We have provided affordable computer hardware and Internet services, counseling hotline, mentorship services, seminars and training courses to over 20,000 of these families. More than 4,600 families benefited from discounted hardware and 7,100 families enjoyed low-price broadband services. The numbers of parents and students who had participated in free training courses have reached 38,200. School support services were provided to over 90 secondary and primary schools to support the development of electronic learning in schools.

WebOrganic will expand its services and develop many more activities. Thanks for the support from community partners, we now have 17 Community Support Centres and Satellite Training Spots to further improve the convenience of access. To synchronize with the most current eLearning trends, WebOrganic introduced the Positive Use of Internet Workshops to both students and parents, educating students the right attitude for using the Internet. By doing so, we hope to reduce parents’ worries on Internet addiction of their children, so as to prevent family conflicts caused by the improper use of Internet and promote digital inclusion in family. Last but not least, the scale of the Mentorship Programme will also be expanded with more mentors form tertiary institutions and more interactive and interesting activities for students from low-income families.

WebOrganic is a sprouting seed, which manifests Hope, Chance and Choice. We are committed to our mission of providing superior products and services to the needy students and their families. Once again, we are most grateful for the staunch support of all our volunteers, mentors, the business community and the education sector, who shares with us the joy of making valuable contribution. In the upcoming year, let us continue to share, to be touched, and to grow together!
